Welcome to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, "the little church with the big heart." We are located on Pittsfield's historic Main Street, adjacent to Dustin Park. For driving directions, click here.
Our Sunday worship time is 9:30 a.m.. All are welcome, without exception.
We believe that all we are and all we have are gifts from God, and we are thankful. It is our mission to share the love of God with each other and with the rest of the world.
We update regularly, so "refresh" this page and our weekly bulletin for content added since your last visit!
NEWS & NOTES
KEVIN NICHOLS ORDINATION: For photos and info about our former Rector's ordination as Bishop of Bethlehem, PA, by Presiding Bishop Michasel Curry on Saturday, September 15, click here.
LECTIONARY STUDY: Rev. Miriam Acevedo holds a weekly lectionary study on Fridays at 9 AM in the undercroft of St. Stephen’s. It will resume when she returns from vacation.
BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS: This annual event takes place from 11:30 to 12:30 on Sunday, October 7 in Dustin Park next to the church. Members will have a chance to fetch their pet and bring them back for the blessing.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: We plan to begin our new Sunday School program in October using Godly Play, a creative, imaginative approach to Christian formation. Lindsey and her helpers are busy gathering materials and preparing the space and the lessons, and will be the primary teacher. Contact her if you are interested in helping or you have a child who wants to join in the learning and the fun!
UNITED THANK OFFERING: Time for those little blue boxes we know and love. They are available at the back of the sanctuary. We will collect them on October 30th. This offering helps Episcopal churches with funding grants for special projects. We received a UTO grant to help us build the ramp into the Church.
HOLLY FAIR: At Parish Family Sunday on September 30, Wes will share plans for the Fair and seek suggestions on how we could change things around this year. Anyone who can contribute items for the fair should start planning now. As we get closer to November 17, the date of the Fair, he will sign up volunteers to for set up, sales, and clean up.
